Lucky You! Simple Ways to Invite Luck and Good Fortune Into Your Life

Welcome, Spring! This time of year is so full of potential and beauty. The weather warms, the days are getting longer (albeit very slowly), and flowers and trees are ready to burst forth with new growth. Many baby animals are born in the spring, and people often begin spring cleaning, clearing out the old objects and energy to make way for the new.

This time of year is full of religious holidays like Easter, Holi, and Ramadan. Other observances include Play Outside Day, Puppy Day, and Chip and Dip Day (who knew?)! It seems like March has something for everyone, including those celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

For the Irish (or Irish at heart), this is an important day to honor St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Over time, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations have evolved to involve parades, music, dancing, food, and everything green. However, one of the most traditional symbols of St. Patrick’s Day is the shamrock.

The story goes that St. Patrick depicted the Holy Trinity with the shamrock, which imbued the beholder with good luck. Similarly, the four-leaf clover is a Celtic charm associated with repelling evil and welcoming good luck. The four leaves symbolize faith, hope, luck, and love. The shamrock and the four-leaf clover are symbols of St. Patrick’s Day and luck in general.

However, clovers aren’t the only way to get lucky. There are many items to add to your home, room, or workspace that will invite good fortune to your life.

  • Mobiles and windchimes direct and move energy as they move with the air, dispersing negative energy. You want a silent mobile inside your house and a windchime outside.
  • Crystals can be placed in all areas of your home. When placed in certain areas, they align with specific intentions or attract or repel energies when worn. If you want to keep it simple, use clear quartz in all areas of your home to keep unlucky energy away.
  • Plants introduce an element of nature into your home, increasing peace and harmony.
  • A Dala Horse is considered both holy and auspicious in Sweden. Any color is lucky, but traditionally, they are painted orange and red.
  • An elephant figurine with a trunk facing upwards will bring good fortune. Be sure that your figurine faces the front door to welcome in all the abundance.

These are a few easy and simple ways to bring luck your way! But all the lucky talismans in the world won’t help if you unconsciously block the positive energy. Consider eliminating these things from your home to keep the good in and the bad out:

  • Clutter in doorways and hallways keep the energy from flowing. Items like coats, keys, mail, and shoes should have a spot where they “live” to reduce clutter.
  • The kitchen is a source of wealth and health. Spend extra care in this area by tossing away out-of-date food, keeping your counters uncluttered, and focusing on organizing drawers and cupboards.
  • A television in the bedroom distracts from the purposes of the space: sleep and passion. If you cannot break the TV habit, consider putting it in a cabinet so it’s not always visible.
  • Donate, recycle, or throw away items that evoke negative memories. If you want to invite luck and other positive energies into your home, let go of things that make you sad, depressed, anxious, or angry.

Focusing on luck and positivity, and warding away the negative, may get a PR boost in the month of March, but these simple steps will keep you feeling lucky, blessed, and positive all year long.
