Self-Talk

by | Jun 7, 2019

We talk to ourselves all day long. In fact, you are probably doing it right now. This inner chatter can be, at it’s best, uplifting and loving. At it’s worst it can tear us down and make us feel worthless. This month we’ll focus on self-talk: how you can use it to raise your vibration and what to do when you’re caught in the cycle of negative self-talk.

What exactly is self-talk? It is our inner monologue, the running dialogue that we have with ourselves all day. It combines our conscious thoughts with unconscious beliefs and biases. Self-talk is an effective way for our brains to process our daily experiences. It is a huge part of what makes us who we are. It images self-esteem and self-judgement. Many great ideas are born, perfected and carried out through positive self-talk. Conversely, we can make ourselves feel unworthy through negative self-talk.

Self-talk is extremely powerful. It affects the way you view yourself, others and the world. Constantly telling yourself that you are overweight will keep you stuck there. Consistently viewing others as untrustworthy and deceitful will bring those types of people into your life. Additionally, believing that the world is a dangerous place full of tragedy and woe will bring those experiences. You see the world not as it is, but how you are.

Since self-talk is so powerful, we will learn how to use it for good and not evil. Stay tuned to the Facebook group for posts on using self-talk to raise your vibration and the vibration of those around you. And, since no one is perfect, we’ll discuss what to do when you are caught in the trap of negative self-talk. As an added bonus I’ll include some Spring Forest Qigong techniques designed to facilitate positive self-talk which will lead to a healthier, happier you.

Namaste, beautiful souls!
